A family business that began in 1960, when Manuel Barceló opened his first shoe factory in Spain. Today the company is run by the second generation, soon to pass into the third. Craftsmanship and expertise are what has made this family business a leader in natural fibers and hand-woven and hand-sewn leathers. Materials are extremely important to the company, as they are the essence of product quality. A careful internal selection process of raw materials and ethical suppliers ensures the highest quality standards. Jute, raffia, cork, natural rubber, wood and leather hand-selected to last. The best quality, expression and culture. The best quality as an indispensable requirement of every step in the production of each pair of shoes. Expression as the hallmark of the brand. Strong, unequivocal and honest. Culture as the brand's approach to the environment. Craftsmanship and passion for art as inspiration for new designs. Awareness of tradition, respect for cultural values, love of aesthetics and basics. Have you ever wondered how the wedges and rope espadrilles we so love to wear in the summer are created? Paloma Barceló in Spain, a company that still makes all its products by hand, with precision work that becomes art among woven threads and structures that combine tradition and modernity. Thanks to his experience, Manuel focuses on creating exclusive espadrilles and wedges, characterized by sculptural platforms that slender the figure and become his true passion. "They are shoes for women who love fashion and like to stand out, but they also appeal to those who are looking for quality garments, people willing to spend only on products that are worth the price they have," says Manuel, "when it comes to shoes, the percentage of craftsmanship is very important, because they must not only be beautiful, but also comfortable and suitable for different situations. For me, perfection is achieved when the creator's inspiration reaches the consumer's taste. Then yes, everything works." For the past few years, Manuel has also been focusing on Palomitas by Paloma Barceló, a younger line with an appealing design that meets the needs of a less eccentric audience but equally interested in the quality of Made in Spain, and he continues to introduce innovations in the design of both lines. Such as the micro, a very light rubber wedge that can be alternated with the more traditional rope going to create something completely new, while the espadrilles are hand-stitched and the cork wedges are covered with a single strand of rope expertly glued and hammered to make it adhere well to the cork. It is a life dedicated to shoes and the pursuit of perfection that of Manuel Barceló.
