Birkenstock Boston: how the clog is made

The Boston has a closed toe, an open heel and a single strap with a buckle that adjusts the fit over the instep. Underneath is the same anatomical cork and latex footbed as the Arizona: it supports the arch, has a heel cup and moulds to your foot with wear. The EVA sole is light and cushions each step.

You slip it on without fastening anything, and it covers enough of the foot to wear with socks, indoors and out, from autumn to spring.

Boston materials and versions

Suede: soft, matt suede, the most popular version, in shades of brown, beige and green.
Oiled leather: leather treated with oils that darkens over time and develops a worn-in patina, as on the Boston Habana.
Soft Footbed: an extra foam layer under the cork for a softer feel from the first days.
Wire Buckle: the Boston with a wire metal buckle, in black or beige leather.

Regular or narrow width

Birkenstock makes the Boston in two widths: regular and narrow. The length is the same, only the width changes. Narrow holds slim feet more firmly; regular is better for medium or wide feet. Narrow or Regular is shown on each product page.

How to wear the Boston
