It all started with car racing. Patrizio Piscaglia, a designer born and raised in Rimini, raced for a team during his college years. When it was time to revamp the team's uniforms, he came up with a few designs. Right around that time, the company that produced the garments was looking for a designer, and one thing led to another. "I thought I only had one passion, car racing," Piscaglia says, "I found myself with another one that I now devote all my time to." The brand she founded is called Messagerie (pronounced the French way), has a flagship clothing store in downtown Rimini and Milan with plans to open others in China, Japan and Europe. "The brand is giving us great satisfaction. Contrary to the difficulties that many companies experience at this time, in recent seasons we are experiencing an important increase in sales, probably due to the birth of the women's collection and a more focused study on brand positioning." The target audience is the 20- to 40-year-old age group that carefully experiences cultural changes and feels the pleasure of dressing outside the classic canons, but appreciates the craftsmanship of made-in-Italy. Unlike other brands, she completely renews the collection with each presentation. Between the University of Rimini's Fashion Culture and Techniques course and local artisans, opportunities for collaborations abound: "All of our employees and manufacturers are located between the province of Rimini and Le Marche. We periodically host students from the Rimini University Pole at the company and they are fascinated by a place where at the same time a Made-in-Italy product is designed, made and distributed." MESSAGERIE catapults with the collections into a concept of inspiration drawn from Fellini's Casanova, a modern symbol of glamour and sophistication. Shapes are contrasting: slim and over. Contrasting volumes are declined on textured linen, maltinoto, jaquard, wax. The color chart is tinged with white, natural, blue, mud, green, black and beijge. Creativity and sartorial research are the cornerstones of the MESSAGERIE collection in which there is a strong attention to details, fabrics and embroidery of theatrical inspiration, emphasizing the decorative path typical of the brand signed by Patrizio Piscaglia. The prints represent the very philosophy of the brand. The concept of camouflage is reinterpreted with totally different elements, such as floral designs that create a very fused, tone-on-tone visual effect. For the evening, men wear super 120's wool or technical fabrics for a tailoring that abandons all rigidity. The garments are complemented by accessories: fabric loafers, python or natural leather belts, leather and natural canvas duffel bags, and stamp-printed scarves are the elements for a man who is the master of his time. Messagerie stands out for its vintage rock soul that finds, in the past, its key to the present, to launch men's looks with a "tailored and relaxed" mood. The man it addresses is ironic and easygoing, capable of carefully experiencing cultural changes and experiencing the pleasure of dressing outside the classic canons, while appreciating the craftsmanship of made-in-Italy.
